Job Description:
As the Lead, Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for hardware and software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, verification, and validation of technical products and systems. You will also be responsible for conducting component trade studies, performing system integration, and characterizing system performance.
The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
- Define requirements, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems.
- Use system design synthesis of simple systems
- Develop use cases
- Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and captive flight tests.
- Analyze data from design verification test efforts
- Plan cost, schedule, and execution plan of complex development and test activities
- Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments
- Present results during internal and external program meetings
- Develop, track and present technical metrics
- Perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects
- Lead Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team
- Implementation of MBSE artifacts and Digital Analysis Tools
- Generate supplier statements of work, supplier oversight, auditing of supplier-delivered artifacts
- Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components
- Participate in cost and technical activities supporting proposals
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
- Up to 10% travel may be required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Active DoD clearance with current 5 year update
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a related engineering field with some systems engineering experience
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering disciplines and the government program acquisition lifecycle, to include requirements definition, creation of requirements verification test matrices, requirements decomposition, requirements traceability, design reviews and documentation, and integration and test
- Minimum of 3 years experience with RF or radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor
- Experience in design, development and/or testing of radar and/or other RF system
- System level design experience in which the applicant has been involved in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems, the definition of multiple interfaces and been involved in the trades of multiple solution options
- Experience with system integration, engineering testing, and system performance characterization
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products
- Experience integrating sensors into air vehicles
- Working knowledge of military standards
- Familiarity with guided weapons and/or weapon systems
- Experience leading a small team to complete assigned program tasking
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence and Jira
- Experience with Matlab, LabView, Python, or C/C++/C, DOORs
- Experience in Control Account Management as part of an Earned Value Management System
- Experience in advanced radar sensor system development
- Experience with requirements management
- Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates
- Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations
- Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
