Job Description:
As the Lead Contracts Manager, you'll be the go-to person for managing contracts from beginning to end making sure everything runs smoothly across both government and commercial research and development projects. You’ll have a hand in every step of the process, from helping to secure new business to making sure the details are in place for successful delivery.
Your day-to-day will involve working closely with both customers and internal teams, reviewing and negotiating contract terms, tracking key deadlines, and making sure all the paperwork lines up. You’ll also be an important partner in keeping client relationships strong, helping ensure we meet expectations and stay aligned with program goals.
This role is part of our Agile Development Group, a fast-moving team within the company that’s focused on building the next generation of tech such as unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/UAV), advanced radar, next-gen weapons, and RF sensing technologies. Essential Functions:
• Assisting in proposing and negotiating contracts for the company’s products and services in prime and subcontracting environments.
• Ensuring compliance with federal procurement regulatory requirements and providing the primary customer interface on related issues.
• Advising management on business decisions from a contractual perspective and facilitating customer interface regarding contract performance matters.
• Providing in-house guidance and training on federal procurement regulatory matters to Program Managers, Division staff, and other stakeholders.
• Negotiating terms and conditions with both government and commercial customers.
• Acting as the primary company interface with customer contracting officers and procurement agents.
• Capable of working in a classified environment, such as a SCIF.
Qualifications:
• Active Secret or Top Secret is required
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• MBA preferred, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in federal contract management, including Cost Reimbursable, Time & Materials, and Firm Fixed Price contracts.
• Recognized subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of contract management practices.
• Strong expertise in FAR and DFARS regulations, with the ability to guide teams through compliance during proposal development, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Proven experience negotiating terms and conditions with government entities and prime contractors across various contract types.
• Familiarity with working alongside DCMA, DCAA, and other federal agencies.
• Experience managing intellectual property and data rights issues.
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple contracts independently.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary, and fast-paced team environment.
• Strong work ethic and a dedication to contributing to the organization’s success.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
• Professional Contracting Certifications preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
