4 Year Apprenticeship progressing to gaining a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920).

L3Harris in Pinkenba is part of our Mission Critical Communications business and a world leader in ground tactical and airborne mission communication solutions and a global provider of ground based C4 systems and transportable SATCOM terminals. Our Regional Support Centre (RSC) in Pinkenba is a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides L3Harris Defence Australia programs, International Programs and commercial programs with through life maintenance support, maintaining a variety of military and commercial communications equipment.
We are focused on delivering advanced systems to meet the needs of our customers, uniting multiple forms of communication together, and covering communication over air, ground, sea, and space.
Under the guidance of a mentor/s, the Apprentice will use test instrumentation and equipment to perform fault diagnosis of digital and analogue assemblies in customer support environments. They will also support engineering functions as required and use data collection tools to manage workflow and review failure trend analysis for contribution to continuous improvement programs. In addition, the Apprentice will provide customer support regarding product diagnostics as required which may involve customer site visits.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Responsible for gaining hands on experience and knowledge to use specialised equipment, tools and software to troubleshoot electronic communications equipment comprising of RF, digital and analogue circuits.
- Responsible for accurate data collection associated with diagnostic findings and solutions.
- Provide feedback to management, engineers and peers regarding diagnostics, processes and tools.
- Ensure that all working practices are conducted within Health and Safety legislation.
- Provide direct customer support in relation to product diagnostics as required.
- Inventory management and record keeping.
- Successful completion of TAFE Modules, Certificate III Electronics & Communications
- Maintain personal training logbook

- Proven ability to learn theoretical knowledge and apply in practice.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA)
