Performs surface preparation, treatment and painting of components, small aircraft surface areas, aircraft panels, support equipment, or other items as required. Demonstrated ability to precisely apply paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices. Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Working knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques. Must be knowledgeable of military publications, microfilm, and diagrams. Ability to precisely

apply vinyl graphics to multiple surfaces, including aircraft.

 

Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

 

Role Overview:

  • Works under limited supervision.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise and proficiency.
  • Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.
  • Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. 
  • Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • Follows established processes to complete tasks.
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
  • Resolves most issues.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
  • Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as A/C Painter (or other similar product)
  • Demonstrated experience as a paint technician to include painting, maintenance, and finish work.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or
  • Two (2) years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain Top Secret clearance in accordance with the NISPOM codifying 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM Rule.
  • Must be able to satisfy personnel security requirements for Yankee White access in accordance with the DoD Directive 5210.55 (Presidential Support Program) and DoD Instruction 5210.87 (Selection of DoD Military and Civilian Personnel and Contractor Employees for Assignment to Presidential Support Activities). 
  • A government requisite pre-screening checklist will be requested from all applicants considered.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $53,000.00 - $99,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
