Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Software Engineer/Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an active TS/SCI clearance and be available to work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud-based solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Lead the design, development, configuration, and deployment of cloud-based applications using AWS services. Develop, manage, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation. You will work to develop secure cloud applications in mission-critical environments where resilience, reliability and operational speed matter. You will partner directly with customers and engineers to translate mission needs into practical software capabilities that protect information and deliver an intelligence advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage substantive experience in cloud development in AWS to build robust cloud-based applications.
- Ensure that the applications are scalable, secure, and cost-effective by utilizing the best practices and services provided by AWS.
- Engage in daily interactions with customers to understand their requirements and provide suitable cloud-based solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive architectural designs that align with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Develop roadmaps to guide the implementation and evolution of cloud solutions over time.
- Produce detailed documentation to support the design, development, and deployment processes, ensuring clarity and reproducibility.
- Deliver professional presentations to stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
- Adapt to support various mission areas, demonstrating flexibility and a strong commitment to achieving mission success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active TS with the ability to obtain SCI.
- Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level II Certification required, or ability to obtain within 80 days of hire.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- On-site/field experience.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, GitLab pipelines, EC2 automation, C2S/CAP, and high-side AWS environments
Experience with IATT and ATO certification process. - Experience developing and deploying software on JWICS
Experience with automating deployments and configuration of EC2 instances. - Familiarity with the C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments.
- Experience with configuration of Gitlab pipelines for automated deployment of cloud resources.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, configurating, and deploying cloud-based applications using AWS services.
- A collaborative team player with experience working in a dynamic team environment.
