Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead Software Engineer/Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an active TS/SCI clearance and be available to work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud-based solutions built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Lead the design, development, configuration, and deployment of cloud-based applications using AWS services. Develop, manage, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage substantive experience in cloud development in AWS to build robust cloud-based applications.
- Ensure that the applications are scalable, secure, and cost-effective by utilizing the best practices and services provided by AWS.
- Engage in daily interactions with customers to understand their requirements and provide suitable cloud-based solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive architectural designs that align with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Develop roadmaps to guide the implementation and evolution of cloud solutions over time.
- Produce detailed documentation to support the design, development, and deployment processes, ensuring clarity and reproducibility.
- Deliver professional presentations to stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
- Adapt to support various mission areas, demonstrating flexibility and a strong commitment to achieving mission success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level II Certification required, or ability to obtain within 80 days of hire.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- On-site/field experience.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, GitLab pipelines, EC2 automation, C2S/CAP, and high-side AWS environments
Experience with IATT and ATO certification process. - Experience developing and deploying software on JWICS
Experience with automating deployments and configuration of EC2 instances. - Familiarity with the C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments.
- Experience with configuration of Gitlab pipelines for automated deployment of cloud resources.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, configurating, and deploying cloud-based applications using AWS services.
- A collaborative team player with experience working in a dynamic team environment.
