Essential Functions:

  • Perform all duties to layout, fabricate and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable onboard ships.
  • Checks, tests and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary. Cuts wire to length; strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Assembles multi-pin connectors and backshells. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.

Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for a dedicated 1st Class Electrician to join our team in Panama City, FL. The 1st Class Electrician will perform all duties required to layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable onboard ships.

Qualifications:

  • Must have five (5) years electrical experience installing cables through shipboard cableways, performing terminations on military and commercial multi-pin crimp and soldering type connectors/connections
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.
  • Ability to use all tools of their trade such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, soldering and expected to accomplish the more complex tasks associated with electrical installations of cable, military circular connectors, panel box and power terminations, etc.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to provide own hand tools specific to the trade.
  • U.S citizenship/legal Alien required 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Shipboard Fiber Optic Assembly
  • Successful completion of Military class 'A' school for basic electrical theory understanding is desired.
