Job Description:
The Space & Airborne Systems Segment is seeking a strategic HR business partner to partner with our Engineering functional discipline teams. This role will provide support for a matrixed, geographically dispersed population.
As the HR business partner, the selected candidate will be a true strategic partner in driving business results by understanding the client area’s strategic plans and initiatives to provide value added recommendations. You will partner with all levels of leadership, as well as the overall employee population. You will be responsible for understanding and executing on the human capital objectives and needs of the business across multiple HR workstreams including staffing, leader development, compensation planning, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change leadership, employee engagement, inclusion, and retention.

Essential Functions:
- Build and maintain effective working relations with management and employees to provide advice and counsel to both on employee-related and organizational matters.
- Identify and diagnose issues proactively and develop, recommend, and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement/experience and business results in a timely manner.
- Partner with client groups to build and execute on talent actions to meet overall business strategy, objectives and goals.
- Analyze data and metrics to support recommendations to the leadership team for continuous improvement.
- Participate in/lead projects across Engineering and HR functions.
- Collaborate with HR Center of Excellence, matrixed HR counterparts, and functions such as Legal, Ethics, Environmental Health & Safety, and Security.
- Participate and/or lead projects and special initiatives within and outside the HR function as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain US Government security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related business area.
- 6 years' HR generalist experience supporting various levels within the organization.
- Experience driving HR strategy in the following areas: performance management, employee engagement, retention, staffing, compensation, engagement, leadership coaching and development and succession planning.
- Employee relations and investigative experience.
- Ability to analyze and “tell a story” with data.
- Ability to work as a contributing member of a team as well as operate independently.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and to organize workload to assure that short timelines are met given frequent interruptions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative - has a track record on delivering commitments.
- Results oriented, proactive and resourceful.
- Ability to influence, coach and consult with all levels of the organization in a positive and effective manner.
- High level of integrity; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience with matrix organizations and multi-site HR leadership preferable.
- Geographically mobile for continued career growth preferable.
