Job Description:

We are seeking a Sr Associate, Accounting to support accounting compliance and internal controls for the IMS Segment, reporting to the IMS Segment Director of Technical Accounting and Controls.   The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, an understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), experience with internal controls and a basic understanding of US Government rules for defense contractors including FAR and DFARS concepts.

Essential Functions:

• Perform assigned research of technical accounting topics
• Perform procedures and monitoring to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
• Proactively identify and implement process improvements
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects, as requested
• Support Audits (External Audit, Internal Audit, SOX, and Self Evaluation Testing)

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and minimum 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.  In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
• Demonstrated ability to interact with business stakeholders
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
