Job Description:
Step into a pivotal role where your expertise in Software Configuration Engineering strengthens mission software, algorithms, and infrastructure supporting highly classified programs. You will help maintain disciplined baselines, develop automated processes, and coordinate releases across Development Test, Operational Test, and operational environments.

Working closely with software engineering, algorithm development, systems engineering, test personnel, infrastructure teams, and Government customers, you will ensure that all configuration changes are well documented, traceable, and deployed with confidence. This role blends hands on technical work with structured Configuration Management processes, enabling you to directly influence mission readiness and operational success.

Essential Functions:
•    Lead and maintain Configuration Management processes across mission software, algorithms, cloud environments, and associated technical artifacts throughout their lifecycle.
•     Establish, maintain, and control software and algorithm baselines including versioning, revision history, release packages, approvals, traceability, and configuration status accounting.
•     Coordinate and manage controlled software and algorithm deliveries into Development Test, Operational Test, and mission operational environments.
•     Develop and administer test governance processes including entry and exit criteria, readiness checks, discrepancy tracking, configuration identification, approvals, and release‑to‑operations decisions.
•    Maintain authoritative configuration records identifying approved versions, capabilities, dependencies, and environment‑specific configurations.
•    Work directly with software engineers, algorithm developers, systems engineers, mission leads, infrastructure engineers, test personnel, and Government partners to ensure changes are properly documented, reviewed, tested, and deployed.
•    Facilitate Configuration Control Boards, test readiness reviews, release readiness reviews, and other decision forums.
•    Use GitLab, Atlassian tools, and automated systems to manage configuration records, change requests, workflows, approvals, and release artifacts.
•    Plan, develop, and integrate automation scripts supporting secure release workflows and synchronization processes.
•    Administer software configuration management tool sets and support tool upgrades as needed.
•    Configure and support Linux and Windows environments related to CM workflows (virtual machines, build environments, or related support).
•    Provide daily operational support as the SWCE focal point for access, release coordination, environment onboarding, or deployment assistance.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
•    Ability to obtain CompTIA Security Plus or Department of Defense Information Assurance Technical Level Two certification within ninety days of start.
•    Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required

Preferred Additional Skills:
•    Ability to work effectively across software and infrastructure teams and communicate complex Configuration Management processes to varied audiences.
•    Substantive experience using Atlassian tools, GitLab, and Amazon Web Services environments.
•    Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or Artifactory.
•    Familiarity with SQL or relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
•    Hands‑on scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar languages) supporting workflow automation and configuration synchronization.
•    Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automated release processes.
•    Basic experience administering Linux and Windows operating environments related to CM or build processes.
•    Experience designing automation workflows or synchronization scripts supporting software development and algorithm integration.
•    Direct experience supporting Configuration Management activities in engineering or classified mission settings.
•    Comprehensive understanding of Configuration Management principles, practices, and industry standards.
•    Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, or automated enterprise processes.
•    Experience designing, developing, or deploying cloud native applications in Amazon Web Services.
•    Experience supporting automated release pipelines, workflow orchestration, or enterprise scale configuration automation.
•    Experience supporting build creation, archiving, or releasing maintenance.
•    Background in engineering centric, mission critical, or Government customer aligned operational environments.
