Job Description:  

Support the data analytics group (DAG) within the Cost Engineering and Analytics Department (CEAD; within the Systems Engineering organization). CEAD’s vision is to become a world class, centralized cost engineering and analytics organization supporting L3Harris SAS growth to become a top tier Prime exemplified by fully collaborative and cross-segment alignment with respect to parametric cost estimating.

 

The business analyst within DAG will participate in database testing and metrics development that support parametric cost estimating at L3Harris. Our entire DAG also participates in small tool development, using coding languages like python, VBA, or R to drive efficiency in the greater CEAD organization.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Collect, organize, and integrate data sets from various data sources, including Earned Value Management (EVM), accounting, schedule, budget, execution, quantity, technical and programmatic data.
  • Exhibit the analytical creativity required to tie data together and develop schemes/tools to regularly update databases.
  • Develop, update and execute policy/procedures for data management and data accessibility.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to show data collection status and provide first-pass analysis.
  • Contribute to cost estimates for large Space and Airborne Systems programs.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of technical and programmatic requirements for a variety of systems and projects.
  • Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design and implementation plans for software tool pipelines and analytical procedures.
  • Develop software test plans, procedures & cases. Use software tools and scripting for software/hardware troubleshooting and database maintenance.
  • Analyze systems requirements from end systems and users.
  • Supports development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers.
  • Travel required up to 10%.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Professional experience collecting, organizing, and integrating data sets from various sources

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active security clearance is highly preferred
  • Coursework and/or experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, systems analysis and design, project management, object-oriented programming, and/or statistics.
  • Familiar with Project management software (Jira, MS Project, or equivalent), Visio, Python, R, DAX, Visual Basic, SQL, Git, and/or GUI design/creation.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $71,500.00 - $132,500.00. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $82,500.00 - $153,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
