Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a talented and motivated Space Planner to join our team. The Space Planner will be responsible for analyzing, planning, and optimizing the use of space in our facilities to support functional and organizational objectives. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure that the workplace environment is efficient, safe, and conducive to productivity.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute space planning strategies that support organizational goals and adapt to future needs across our real estate portfolio.
- Analyze space requirements and provide innovative solutions to maximize physical resource utilization, ensuring optimal workspace usage.
- Collaborate with department heads, senior management, and stakeholders to understand and fulfill departmental space needs.
- Manage and update space management databases (Archibus) and CAD drawings, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Oversee the allocation, design, and layout of workspaces, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
- Conduct regular space audits and provide actionable recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
- Work with facilities, IT, security teams, and other relevant departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment.
- Manage relocations, renovations, and workspace adjustments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Assist in the preparation and management of capital budgeting for space-related expenditures, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in space planning and facilities management, implementing innovative solutions where applicable.
- Provide interior design services, manage renovation requests, and support move management for the HTC Facility.
- Analyze and interpret occupancy reporting, report occupancy and utilization metrics to leadership at regular cadence.
- Assist in the selection of furniture and finishes, create design renderings, and work collaboratively with internal customers on iterative design approaches to meet the requirements within defined budgets.
- Partner with Business Unit (BU) representatives to facilitate discussions regarding requirements for office and mixed-use space.
- Interpret customer requests, provide design concepts and AutoCAD drawings for renovations, and develop scope of work for Facilities Engineering estimates.
- Update Facilities drawings in AutoCAD based on renovation projects, adhering to drawing/layer standards.
- Coordinate office and non-office relocations with manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Develop feasibility studies for future-state site utilization/consolidation.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience

- Proficiency in CAD software and space planning tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of building codes, ADA regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Professional certification in Facilities Management or a related field.
- Experience with Archibus and BIM software.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing large-scale space planning projects.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- CIDQ certified, state license in Architecture or Interior Design, or a graduate degree.
