Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer to join our talented team and support our customers. The candidate will perform electronics design using electrical design and analysis tools, including schematic capture, functional and block diagram generation, and electrical wiring diagrams involving digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal designs. The candidate will collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Software, Firmware, and Electrical Engineers and Technicians as part of an integrated product team (IPT). The candidate will also be responsible for meeting project cost and schedule milestones and will play a key role in customer reviews. This is an on-site position supporting our Strategic Missions Division at our Palm Bay, FL location. We look forward to reviewing your application!
Essential Functions:
- Perform CCA design, specifying mixed-signal technology circuits consisting of A/D, D/A, processors, I/O communication, and programmable logic (FPGA, CPLD) circuits.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the digital CCA design process, including requirements generation, preliminary design, peer reviews, detailed design, test plan generation, and integration and test.
- Design circuits incorporating components such as Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSP processors, Freescale or Intel processors, microcontrollers, CPLDs, and volatile/non-volatile memory (DDRx, SRAM, ROM, Flash, etc.).
- Work with board technologies such as HDI, Meg6, and back drilling.
- Design high-speed memory interfaces (DDRx).
- Utilize a schematic software suite used to generate circuit card designs, including schematic capture, constraint-driven layout, simulation, and timing analysis.
- Work independently to generate digital CCA design solutions.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with high-speed memory and network interfaces and protocols is desired.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to lead a design team.
- Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware/Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of high-complexity digital design techniques and devices.
- Hardware debugging skills and experience operating signal generators, logic analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes
