Job Description:  

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Security Operations to support physical security operations throughout the Palm Bay/Melbourne, Florida area. This position serves as a technical resource for GSA-approved locking systems, security containers, vault doors, key and lock management, physical security systems, and facility security requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with internal customers, Security Operations personnel, Facilities, vendors, and government/customer security representatives to maintain compliant and effective physical security programs.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, combination changes, repair, and authorized neutralization/opening of GSA-approved security containers, vault doors, and locking devices.
  • Maintain effective key control and lock management programs, including accurate records and accountability documentation.
  • Support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and assessment of electronic physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems.
  • Conduct physical security surveys, vulnerability assessments, and facility accreditation/readiness assessments and provide recommendations to management and facility stakeholders.
  • Apply applicable physical, industrial, SAP, SCI, and information security requirements, including ICD 705 Technical Specifications, 32 CFR Part 117/NISPOM, applicable DoD guidance, and other customer or contractual security requirements.
  • Support security planning for new construction, renovations, open storage areas, SAPFs, SCIFs, and other controlled facilities as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain physical security procedures, technical guidance, training materials, and related documentation.
  • Support security inspections, customer assessments, investigations, video reviews, access control audits, and corrective action activities.
  • Provide technical recommendations and cost estimates for physical security projects and equipment.
  • Serve as a technical resource to management, stakeholders, customers, and Security Operations personnel regarding locking systems and electronic physical security systems.
  • Support GSOC operations and response to security system alarms or abnormal conditions when required.
  • Ability to lift and transport tools and equipment weighing up to 25lbs
  • Ability to obtain GSA Certified Safe and Vault Technician certification.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • DoD Secret Security Clearance is required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working with GSA-approved security containers, vault doors, locks, and key control programs
  • Working knowledge of ICD 705 Technical Specifications, 32 CFR Part 117/NISPOM, applicable DoD security requirements, and related physical security standards
  • Familiarity with UL 2050 requirements
  • Experience working in DoD Collateral security environments
  • Experience working in SAP or SCI security environments
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
