Job Description:

Senior Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support the production, assembly, integration, and continuous improvement of robotic systems and subsystems in a manufacturing environment. This role will provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support for electromechanical assemblies with emphasis on Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) integration, production execution, process development, and issue resolution.

The selected candidate will work closely with production, design engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership to ensure robotic hardware is built safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality and schedule requirements. This position will also support the transition of new designs into manufacturing and drive process improvements that improve yield, reduce rework, and increase throughput.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the manufacturing, assembly, and integration of robotic systems, subsystems, and electromechanical hardware, including Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) integration.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, build plans, routers, and related production documentation.
  • Support transition of engineering designs into production, ensuring manufacturability, repeatability, and production readiness.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to assembly flow, tooling, materials, CCA handling, process variation, and test readiness.
  • Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, producibility, and overall assembly efficiency.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts to improve yield, reduce rework, and increase throughput.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, supply chain, and test teams to resolve constraints affecting cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Participate in first article builds, process validations, production readiness activities, and compliance with safety, quality, ESD, workmanship, and configuration control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0–2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments involving electromechanical assemblies, robotics, electronics, or similar hardware.
  • Experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) processes, support, integration, or related electronics manufacturing activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, assembly documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with process documentation, manufacturing instructions, and production support activities.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting robotic systems, motion control hardware, sensors, automation equipment, or complex electromechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with CCA manufacturing standards, ESD controls, workmanship requirements, and inspection criteria.
  • Experience in a high-performance manufacturing environment, including aerospace, defense, or industrial systems.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, first-pass yield improvement, and process optimization techniques.
  • Experience with tooling, fixture implementation, and production test support.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and manufacturing execution tools.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, configuration management, and controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work independently on day-to-day production support while collaborating effectively across functions.
