Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to perform inspections, tests, analyses / audits, and documentation review of complex developmental products. In this role, you will ensure assemblies are correctly built and tested, and collaborate cross-functionally to document, investigate, and solve issues.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for performing inspections, tests, analyses and/or audits of highly complex developmental products / processes / supplier parts to include microelectronics, optics, precision mechanical, software, test equipment, and fully integrated systems to ensure quality standards and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Assists in development, inspection, and approval of complex rework and repair of deliverable subassemblies and large system level integrated platforms
- Approves production and test records for conformance to procedures
- Collaborates with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans
- Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quallity engineers to make recommendations on process improvements.
- Routinely interfaces with customer representatives
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality control processes
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Requires Top Secret security clearance with polygraph
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills; works under limited supervision
- Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) to accurately measure part dimensions and verify tolerances
- Experience with PWB/CCA, electrical part, and mechanical part/GD&T inspection
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience inspecting fiber optic conections and assemblies
- Ceritified to IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
- Familiarity with QMS requirements of AS9100 / ISO9100 quality systems Standards
- Experience in mechanical inspection utilizing basic metrology equipment (calipers, pin gages, etc.)
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills with ability to document and report findings clearly
- Ability to travel for source inspections and/or program support depending on program needs
