Job Description: 

 

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Semiconductor Quality Technician for our Palm Bay, FL location.  As a Semiconductor Quality Technician C in the Microelectronics Division, you will support quality inspection operations for the program.  Quality inspection operations include various inline process inspections, defect classification, interpreting manufacturing drawings, following process specifications, and ensure adherence to written work instructions.  Inspection support includes verification and trend monitoring of semiconductor wafers, die, and packages in both an engineering development and production environment. You will interface with Quality Engineers and have regular interactions with process technicians, operations management, and a variety of engineering teams for the purpose of communicating any non-conformances and driving a quality mindset.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Work in a clean-room environment to inspect semiconductor wafers, die, and packages to determine if product meets acceptance or rejection criteria as identified in applicable work procedures.
  • Support incoming, in-process, first article, source, and final inspections.
  • Verify recent tool and process health qualifications meet passing criteria.
  • Verification of critical dimensions and tolerances against engineering drawings.
  • Operate optical microscopy and measurement tools used in semiconductor inspections.
  • Document non-conformances and classify discrepancies based on defect library references.
  • Coordinate with Quality Engineers to determine the disposition of non-conforming products and materials.
  • Coordinate with Production Planners to determine daily workflow and priorities.
  • Review supplier documentation for adherence to specified quality clauses.
  • Evaluate First Article Inspection reports and material certifications.
  • Review and sign-off on work instruction step completion and modifications
  • Ensure all work instructions are completed and closed out.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or an Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Security Clearance required for role:  Top Secret / SCI w/Poly

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • 4+ years’ experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: lithography, wet etch, dry etch, PVD, PECVD, CMP, metrology, etc.
  • Experience with JESD22-B118A or MIL-STD-883 / MIL-STD-750 semiconductor defect inspection
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience working on classified government programs
  • Previous experience working in an ISO 5 / Class 100 cleanroom
  • Previous experience using commercial Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Previous experience with statistical process control (SPC)
  • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through
  • Team player, pro-active, and customer-oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal
  • 2+ years’ experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations
  • Ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule:
    • Compressed Shift 1A (Sun, Mon, Tue e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)
    • Compressed Shift 1B (Thu, Fri, Sat e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)
  • Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and metrology guides
  • Experience with using inspection tools (e.g., optical, confocal, infrared, and scanning electron microscopes, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
