Job Description
The Project Management Intern will support the MES Digital Transformation initiative through software testing, deployment readiness, user engagement, and change adoption activities. This role provides exposure to project coordination, digital manufacturing systems, and cross functional team collaboration within a high reliability production environment. The intern will work with the MES program team, Operations, Quality, and Corporate IT to help deliver a successful rollout of new MES capabilities, including workflow automation and integration with enterprise systems and shopfloor equipment. This internship is ideal for a student interested in project management with hands-on involvement in digital manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Support project planning and coordination activities, including schedule updates, issue tracking, status reports, and readiness checks
• Participate in MES testing cycles (UAT, regression, functional validation) by executing test scripts, documenting results, logging defects, and verifying corrective actions
• Contribute to training and change management efforts, including developing training materials, user guides, WalkMe content, and communication artifacts
• Help create dashboards, reports, or automation using JSON data, PowerBI, PowerApps/Automate, or AIenabled tools
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to understand varied build types (CCA, microelectronics, cables, system-level assemblies) and validate process impacts
• Support integration understanding between MES, enterprise systems, and smart manufacturing equipment
• Participate in stakeholder discussions, capturing requirements, preparing notes, and ensuring follow-through on action items
• Assist in developing and improving project mechanisms for monitoring progress, identifying risks, and supporting problem-solving with project managers and functional leads
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, industrial technology, or a related field
Preferred Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize tasks, follow structured processes, and work collaboratively across functions
• Demonstrated interest in digital tools, manufacturing systems, or project coordination
• Familiarity or interest in PowerBI, PowerApps/Automate, JSON reporting, or similar digital tools
• Basic exposure to SQL or Java
• Interest in AIassisted tools or digital adoption platforms (e.g., WalkMe)
• Curiosity about manufacturing processes and how MES supports production operations
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Comfort working with technical teams and end users during testing and deployment activities
