Job Description:

L3Harris IMS segment is looking for a Continuous Improvement (CI) professional to drive a culture of Operational Excellence. This will include

  • Facilitating CI workshops and Coaching Lean and single piece flow 
  • Creating Business Analytics for Improved Performance
  • Leading the Best Practice Sharing process
  • Managing CI and ME systems and tools
  • Driving Engagement program (ie. Excellence Awards, OpEx framework recognition, 6S/Flow recognitions, Communications of success stories)

 

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate Strategic continuous improvement events (i.e. Lean, single piece Flow, Value stream mapping, kaizens, Problem solving, 3P) that have measurable impact on business & results
  • Creates and Interprets Operational Scorecards, Dashboards and Business Analytics to track Key Performance Indicators to be used across all sectors and sites.

Analyze data, trends and drives for root cause and actions in collaboration with process owners

  • Leads Best Practice Sharing, identifing and collaborating with best performing entities and sharing practices and success stories across sites
  • Manage tools & systems for Project Management & financial tracking of savings (ie. e3ppm, Athena, SPM)
  • Create & manage training records for CI related content (Lean, Six Sigma Belt program, Problem Solving) across all IMS segment
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on CI training, system & tools and part of the Enterprise Training council
  • Manage the Engagement and Recognition program, which includes Annual Excellence Awards, OpEx framework Bronze-Silver-Gold recognition, 6S/Flow recognitions, Communications of success stories, CI/Lean Expert certifications
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Recommends tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify and capture process improvement opportunities
  • Supports the Implementation of the Operational Excellence Framework-Business Operating System
  • Make effective decisions that drive business performance
  • Coach and guide team on Gemba, 6S, Problem-solving & other CI processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited university or college; AND 12+ years of diverse Operations experience with hands-on leadership experience leading small to medium sized organizations in day-to-day execution & improvement; OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.   
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying Lean Manufacturing in complex/highly regulated manufacturing environments (value stream mapping, kaizen, 5S, one-piece flow, TPM, etc.) with a proven record of achieving sustainable results
  • Certified Lean Green Belt  (*Black belt preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI and Excel, with strong analytical and data visualization skills
  • Knowledge of Power Apps for basic application and automation tasks
  • Demonstrated subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean 
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills

 

 

These job functions require:

 

  • Operating a computer and other office equipment including calculator, copier, printer throughout each day and software programs and tools such as power BI reports, e3ppm tool, athena tool, Nexus, e3 / Mfg. Engineering sharepoints.
  • Facilitating on site Continuous improvement-Kaizen events that could be held in any of the IMS facilities, which will require moving around a meeting room or shop floor area, including walking, bending and ocassionally lifting. Able to manage the Lean simulations kits, write Value stream maps, perform gemba walks.
  • Facilitating virtual training and coaching sessions
  • Frequently Communicating verbally and in writing with other employees about their CI projects and opportunities for improvements, kaizen events, stategic projects
  • Must be able to able to analyze data, trends and root cause problems
  • Ability to do time management, manage multiple projects from across all sectors
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Signa and ability to learn and perform the essential functions outlined in Job Description
