Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing-related activities including expanding Manufacturing Readiness Assessments, DfX-Design for Manufacturing processes, and INAR-Independent Non-Advocate Reviews. The candidate will identify and address EAC risks, manufacturing producibility issues, and customer on-time delivery challenges on new programs. Additionally, they will develop strategies to increase producibility and throughput, identify core vs non-core processes, and develop a Technology Roadmap to optimize productivity by incorporating Industry 4.0 technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Interface with design engineers to ensure hardware producibility and develop build strategies
- Plan and request manpower, equipment, and process resources
- Generate assembly documentation and direct support personnel in the day-to-day execution of manufacturing tasks
- Assist with manufacturing efforts with formal cost and schedule responsibilities and direct customer interfaces
- Support process improvement initiatives of both technical and operational nature
- Design and develop manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems to improve quality and throughput in the conformal coating area
- Plan and support the build and modification of electronic systems including procurement support, assembly method and work instructions generation, tooling design support, material and process development, facilities and equipment planning, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues
- Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
- Support the root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes
- 25% Travel required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or integration environment
- Exceptional manufacturing skills
- Ability to lead teams, train, and mentor personnel
- Candidate must have an analytical mindset and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience developing analytical tools and models is required (e.g., operations research, forecasting models, Power BI & Microsoft Office)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with the core elements of Production Optimization including, but not limited to, Standard Work, Visual Management Controls, Value Stream Maps, Lean Material Flow and Total Productive Maintenance
