Job Description:

 

In this position, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the executive communications strategy for the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Segment President. This position spans internal and external communications, ensuring the Segment President’s vision and priorities are conveyed with clarity, consistency and impact. Success in this role requires a strong executive presence, exceptional writing and storytelling skills, a strong grasp of aerospace and defense, and the ability to translate complex issues into compelling, accessible narratives that resonate with various audiences.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the IMS Strategic and Employee Communications Senior Manager and the IMS Communications Director to develop the IMS President’s communications program.
  • Implement thoughtful, innovative and engaging communications that build on and enhance our IMS purpose, growth campaigns and strategic priorities to assist the Segment President reach a variety of audiences.
  • Provide counsel and content to support change initiatives, tailoring internal communications for the Segment President to educate, inspire and motivate, advising on local preferences, global best practices and culture.
  • Assist in refining and conveying key messages that align with our company's mission, values and strategic goals.   
  • Write and create the Segment President’s communications content including speeches, scripts, presentations, thought leadership articles, editorials, social media posts, reports and executive correspondence.
  • Conduct comprehensive research to develop metrics for Segment President communications. Monitor aerospace and defense industry trends, emerging technologies and other pertinent topics to support the Segment President's communications objectives.
  • Review and edit written content for accuracy, clarity and consistency in tone and style.
  • Uphold accuracy, clarity, consistency and discretion in all executive communications.
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, public relations and subject matter experts to gather information and insights.
  • Travel as needed to support executive engagements and key events.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience is required.
  • 4+ years’ experience leading executive communications
  • 4+ years’ experience with and a strong understanding of both social and traditional media channels

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry highly desired

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $86K-$159K.  For California, New Jersey, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $98-$182K.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
