Job Description:  

L3Harris has an immediate need for an Electro-Optic Technician to join our talented team and support our customers. We are seeking a technical professional to help build, integrate, and test photonic components into larger system assemblies. This is an on-site position supporting precision lab work at our Palm Bay, FL location. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Essential Functions:

• Optical Fiber Splicing/Recoating
• Development, assembly, and inspection of photonic circuits
• Mechanical Builds/Assemblies from print
• Metal Soldering
• Microscopy and Profilometry

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Ability to obtain and hold a TS/SCI w/poly security clearance
• Experience working with electro-optics in a lab environment
• Experience operating general electrical test equipment

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active security clearance is preferred 
• Operating EO Equipment (eg. OSA, Power Meter, OBRs, BeamScan, MFD (Spiricon), Oscilloscopes, multi wavelength laser sources, etc) to characterize/test devices from differing HW used to sustain and/or enhance technologies; operate assembly equipment and utilize recipes across different devices/programs
• Ability to operate GUIs for EO hardware
• Ability to make recommendation for improvements, when applicable
• Basic Understanding of shop math: Ratios, graphs, algebra, and geometry
