Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for Director of Supply Chain Management for the Intel & Cyber supporting the Strategic Mission business.  The Director of Supply Chain Management is a strategic leader with extensive knowledge of supply chain processes and project management. This role leads all aspects of the Supply Chain acquisition process from the proposal stage through Program award and execution for strategic subcontracts while operating in a quick react prototype environment. The Director is responsible for managing business unit costs, schedules, and technical performance, ensuring that L3Harris and Customer objectives are achieved with on-time delivery, exceptional quality, and affordability and leading strategic initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Sourcing and Market Analysis:
    • Conduct analysis of markets and strategic sourcing to align with business goals.
    • Determine the feasibility of materials, components, specifications, or requirements and support product development activities, including proposal support and engineering change impacts on the supply chain.
  • Project and Change Management:
    • Monitor and assess project issues, develop mechanisms and resolutions to meet goals.
    • Review the status of projects, budgets, forecasts, and EVMS; prepare status reports.
    • Apply baseline-centric execution and change management principles.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Develop, maintain, and oversee strategic relationships with suppliers to achieve program, customer, and corporate goals for sales, orders, and profit.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of supply chain professionals at varying levels of experience.
    • Responsible for staffing, recruiting, training, talent development, engagement, and retention of employees across multiple sites.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct SCM and MM reports.
  • Process Improvement and Innovation:
    • Develop, drive, and execute supply chain transformation and improvement projects.
    • Utilize hands-on, cross-functional approaches to identify pain points and drive improvements.
    • Implement solutions to complex problems and identify areas for supplier performance improvement and cost reduction.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Develop and implement new products, processes, policies, standards, or operating plans in support of job function strategy.
    • Recommend and implement changes to the SMD proposal process to drive improvement in ROS.
    • Develop cost-to-serve metrics to track functional performance, including subcontracts, materials, and procurement.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Communicate with parties inside and outside the organization on matters of strategic importance to influence senior leadership on new concepts, practices, and approaches.
    • Provide timely and accurate supply chain status updates to various levels of L3Harris management and external customers.
    • Regularly report to executive management, including the SMD VP GM and President of Intel and Cyber, on functional performance, metrics, and advances within SMD’s business.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI with Poly security clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Top Secret / SCI w/ Poly is preferred.
  • Advanced management, business knowledge, leadership capabilities, and broad experience across multiple related professional disciplines.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the function or organization.
  • Experience with RPA (Bots) to drive process improvements in program demand, MM, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to develop and implement proposal strategies, track functional costs, and drive down cost to serve.
  • Experience coordinating with engineering directors and business program leads for smooth implementation of new requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets and sales forecasting.
  • Experience with international programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
