Job Description:

 

The Program Management Excellence (PMX) team within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) segment is looking to fill the Director of Program Management role. The successful candidate should be an experienced Program Manager, Proposal Manager, or Scheduler who is well-versed in People, Process, and Tools best practices within the Aerospace and Defense industry. This role will implement numerous Repeatable Program Excellence (RPX) improvement projects and the successful candidate will also serve as the single point of contact for functional program management issues for SAS. This role reports directly to the VP of Strategy & Business Development. The candidate will manage the PMX staff and work with functional partners and the sector program teams. Additionally, the candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting other corporate, segment, and sector initiatives, such as LHX Next and MissionOne.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Directly responsible for:
• Repeatable Program Excellence (RPX) implementation
• Providing support to Sector/Programs
• Performance Analysis/Reporting
• Program Leadership Team (PLT) Certification program
• Readiness for Program Management (RPM) rotational program
• Common Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS) and Common Data Matrix (CDM)
• Cobra Standardization
• Risk Tracker
• Schedule Metrics Analysis and Reporting Tool (SMART)
• Program Health Dashboard (PHD) and Automated Program Review Template (PRT)
• Various sector, division, and proposal/program reviews
• Ensuring scheduling support to proposals/programs
• Enforcing Program Management policy and process requirements
• Continuous improvement projects
• Coordinating training requirements and training instruction for program teams
• Providing coordination in support of internal and customer audits
• Coordination and adjudication of PMX support priorities
• Schedule performance analysis
• Earned value management and EAC metrics
• Training metrics

 

Qualifications:

 

Must Have an Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years of prior related experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

• Prior program management, proposal management, and EVMS experience
• Experience presenting to executives/management on important topics
• Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance
• Prior experience providing instructional training to program team(s)
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Knowledge of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify problems and propose solutions
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, across geographically disbursed teams
• Ability to travel up to 25%
