Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Leader to oversee a Mission Systems organization within our Space Sector. The individual will drive the industry in delivering advanced, scalable, and reprogrammable RF payloads and sensors, alongside agile and specialized mission solutions, and achieve unparalleled space dominance and precision in positioning, navigation, and timing. This position will be responsible for an organization of 250+ engineers, overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of space capabilities. The successful candidate will drive innovation and foster a collaborative environment to ensure the successful execution of mission-critical projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a large group of engineers across various functions (Systems, SI&T, Mission Systems, SW, etc.) to drive engineering execution. 
  • Drive and execute on a portfolio of different USG-based Space programs, with different Class requirements (Class A / exquisite through Class D / Demo).
  • Experience on full satellite end-to-end program execution and deliveries and/or proven track record of deliveries on equivalently complex systems in other domains
  • Executive messaging and presentation skills
  • Proven successful leadership of multi-functional teams to deliver mission solutions in different parts of the program lifecycle (Examples: capture, design of end-to-end Satellite prime systems, complex / large platform Integration and Test, delivery, production, etc.)

                                                                   

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 15 years of prior relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • 3+ years of large-team management experience, leading a team >50 resources across multiple disciplines.
  • 5+ years of Space Systems experience
  • Multi-disciplinary technical experience in Space and Ground Domain or other adjacent domains.
  • Experience successfully executing multi-sector engineering efforts.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience in building organizations and employee skillsets required to execute on the business, including forecasting staff needs into the future
  • Experience in executing strategy (such as retaining / growing critical talent)
  • Experience and proven record of deep diving into program engineering plans to affect positive financial outcomes. Examples: Proposal Cost Reviews (PCRs), Pricings, Risk databases, Systems plans, I&T plans, other functional plans, etc. to reduce chances of EAC write-offs and increase chances of successful execution within schedule and budget. 
  • Experience presenting results and communicating with customers and senior management.
