Job Description:
L3Harris in Palm Bay, FL is seeking an associate with strong knowledge of additive manufacturing and optomechanical engineering to support the design, fabrication, and validation of acousto-optic based additive manufacturing equipment that include components such as galvanometric mirrors, acousto-optic deflectors, laser sources, and free space optic. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse array of skills, with an emphasis on optomechanical design, control theory, and additive manufacturing.
Essential Functions:
- Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate optical systems.
- Employ modeling tools, perform laboratory experimentations.
- Ability to operate all optical related equipment to successfully execute tasks to include data reductions, evaluation of result, and delivery/presentation to audience
- Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers.
- Work with a technical leader on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ensure successful outcome through program milestones.
Qualifications:
- To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Optics Focus, Physics or related field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
