Title: Senior Product Engineer

About your next Challenge as a Senior Product Engineer:
Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team including hardware, software and systems engineering, the candidate will be responsible for product development of modern integrated naval and marine communication systems. The candidate will be expected to become a subject matter expert in one or more products and contribute to product development strategies and plans. Key success criteria for this role will include achieving product development milestones, delivering on-time and on-budget to projects, and supporting successful proposals and future sales by providing technical inputs.
What will you do:
- Become a subject matter expert in one or more products
- Develop plans and set objectives for product development
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including product specifications, design documents and manufacturing documentation
- Coordinate hardware, software, and systems engineering activities
- Consult with customers, user groups, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to solicit and incorporate feedback into product development plans
- Manage budget and resources allocated for product development
- Contribute to the technical volumes for new bids and proposals
- Contribute to process improvements related to product engineering
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or any other related field) Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering processes
- Extensive knowledge of voice and data communications pertinent to the defence sector
- Experience working in the defence sector
- Experience working in naval or marine environments
- Broad knowledge of project management
- Control account management
- Product engineering experience involving both hardware and software development
Preferred additional skills, education and certifications: - Strong knowledge of the job area, such as having a specialty within the field of integrated communications
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
· Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
· Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
· Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
