Job Description:
Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Sr. Specialist, Mission Assurance at our Orlando, FL location. This position will provide technical expertise in reliability engineering in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts. The role responds to requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic concerns. The ideal candidate will have a background in cycle-time, cost, and quality improvements using Lean and statistical tools.
Essential Functions:
- Review and approve engineering design, test, and subcontract documentation.
- Participate in and contribute to engineering design reviews and test readiness reviews for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action reviews with varying engineering disciplines (i.e. design engineering, process engineering, test engineering).
- Implement Parts, Materials, and Process controls in an Aerospace environment, and coordinate familiarity with Components Engineering.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering disciplines on system and component requirements traceability & verification, including supplier requirements verification.
- Assess contract requirements compliance to Industry and Government standards (e.g., AS9100, Mil-Std-11991). Must be able to translate the information to policies and procedures governing execution.
- Review policies, procedures, and procurement documents to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Execute Mission Assurance plans and evaluate the effectiveness of said plans through review, analysis and audit.
- Champion the use of Quality Assurance disciplines, tools, and techniques.
- Travel 1-2 times per year for periods of up to 5 days.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Quality experience.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to interface directly with senior personnel, customers, and suppliers.

- Be thorough and detail-oriented.
- Experience or professional certification in Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Quality Assurance, and/or Quality Auditing.
- Training or certification in ASQ.
- Experience with interpretation and use ASME Y14.5.
- Experience with understanding engineering and test documentation such as hardware drawings, schematics and procedures.
