Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Procurement Analyst at our Orlando, FL location. This position is responsible for planning and procurement for all material, services and supplies to support production.
In this role, you will create PO folders in compliance with government regulations, implementing cost saving measures, negotiating/managing suppliers, analyzing supplier proposals, performing price/cost analysis, creating and maintaining compliant procurement files, supporting proposals, solving procurement roadblocks, reporting status to upper management and the customer, and making independent decisions that lead to program successes.
In addition, you will work with multiple functional departments and will have high visibility within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to conduct complex procurements in support of national defense with the ability to make an immediate impact on the business.
Essential Functions:
- The successful candidate will perform duties related to the procurement of goods and services as required.
- Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment and supplies.
- Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and performs expediting duties to maintain on-time delivery schedule.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories and monitors material expense budgets.
- Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Distributes copies in accordance with purchasing policies.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.
- Approves and submits invoices for payment.
- Expedite delivery of goods to users.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 4 years of prior relevant Procurement and Compliance experience; or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- At least two (2) years of experience with DOD programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Program Office and Project Management roles within an integrated product team (IPT) environment.
- Possess a high level of understanding in all relative business matters and have the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management internal to the company and external to suppliers and customers alike.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project skills.
- Space products and the unique processing associated with these items.
- Experience with the Aerospace industry.
- Experience with DoD contractor work environment.
- Oracle experience desired.
