Job Description:
The Senior CCA and Analog Circuit Design Engineer will be a key member of the ALST Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for leading development of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and design of analog and power supply circuits for electrical system and subsystem architectures, analyzing designs to ensure they meet customer specifications, generating block diagrams, and selecting components for the electronics associated with advanced laser systems.
This position requires the individual to have a well-rounded background with deep knowledge of electrical engineering practices. He / she must possess the ability to design new CCAs and analog and power supply circuits that minimize power consumption and thermal emissions by leveraging state-of-the-art components and layout technologies. This individual must have sufficient experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) to minimize manufacturing costs of these new designs. Additionally, the candidate must be able to support product development, verification, and transitioning designs into manufacturing by working with design and development engineers and production technicians.
Essential Functions:
- Electrical systems development to include sub-systems architecture, requirements decomposition and flow-down, specification development, design tradeoff optimization and design approach determination, component selection, detailed design, design analysis with documentation, gate reviews, and verification.
- Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design including component selection, schematic capture, PCB stackup, design constraints, PCB layout and routing, signal integrity analysis, familiarity with design for EMC compliance, power consumption estimation, component derating analysis, system wiring diagrams, verification plan generation, lab test plan development and execution.
- Analog and Power Supply circuit design, including circuit architectures, schematic capture, SPICE circuit simulation / worst-case circuit analysis, lab verification and debug
- Familiarity with serial and parallel digital interfaces
- Operation of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, and function generators.
- Ability to develop and make technical presentations to customers and other L3Harris groups.
- Supervise and/or provide guidance in design certification tests and document results.
- Troubleshoot electronics failures and root cause failures in system applications.
- Monitor and define priorities for the projects he/she is working on a daily basis. Status reporting.
- Responsible for ensuring that specified quality standards are met for all tasks completed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- 9+ years electrical design experience in the DoD industry.
- 7+ years of CCA development experience in the DoD industry.
- 7+ years analog and power supply circuit design.
- 5+ years of experience developing electronics for the DoD / military market.
- 5+ years experience tasking, scheduling, and budgeting EE and software design and development programs.
- 5+ years leading EE design and development teams in the DoD industr.
- Familiarity with design for EMC compliance.
- United States citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Passport.
- Able to travel within the US up to 25%.
- Possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Digital design / FPGA design experience is a plus
- Embedded software design experience is a plus
- LabWindows, LabView, or other Graphical User Interface (GUI) development experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Military Specifications/Standards
