Job Description:
Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a Facilities Technician for our Orlando, FL location. The successful candidate will perform the following tasks and duties:
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, ceilings or office fixtures. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Requires knowledge of applicable standards or regulations and may require specific trade certifications.
Coleman Aerospace is a prime tactical and strategic missile target system provider supporting ballistic missile defense testing. High-Fidelity Air-Launched one, two, and three stage ballistic missile targets are their primary product line. Coleman’s capabilities range from the precision assembly of large missile structures to telemetry, avionics, networks, cold gas control systems, flight termination control modules, advanced vehicle guidance systems, environmental stress screening, qualification and acceptance testing.
Essential Functions:
- Perform a variety of tasks in the Orlando facility and occasionally travel to the Cape Canaveral location.
- Tasks include preventive facility maintenance, equipment and some test equipment maintenance.
- Complete facility projects such as HVAC systems, light electric work, plumbing, painting, carpentry and be able to use hand tools and meters.
- Plan, communicate, and accomplish facility and building maintenance goals.
- May issue, order and/or receive consumable supplies, facility equipment and supplies and know a basic knowledge of shelf-life material.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant Facilities/Maintenance experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience or working knowledge with electrical and environmental test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, wiring diagrams, and electrical and mechanical drawings
- Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel)
- Understanding of industry quality standards and implementation
- Well versed in OSHA regulations and electrical safety
- Familiar with basic rigging and loading
- Physical Requirements – This work may require delicate handling, reaching, light lifting and may require a combination of sitting and standing as well as walking between different locations and occasional use of ladders.
- Capable of obtaining a secret security clearance.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Associates degree or certification in electronics, quality, HVAC units or similar
- Experience with electronics, measurement and testing
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time
- Willingness to work varied shifts to support surge activities
- Familiarity with lean processes and 5S / 6S
