Job Description:

 

L3Harris is seeking an Electronics Test Technician at our Orlando, FL location. This role is responsible for testing functions and responses of electrical and electro-mechanical launch vehicle and ground support components and subassemblies as specified in process and design documentation.

 

At this location, Coleman Aerospace produces complex single, two, and three stage launch vehicles used to support ballistic missile defense testing.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Under general supervision, the selected candidate will:

  • Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality personnel in development of procedures and troubleshooting of hardware and test equipment.

  • Test electrical components and subassemblies.

  • Perform environmental testing to support acceptance or qualification testing.

  • Troubleshoot hardware with associated documentation.

  • Connects and disconnects cables to hardware to be tested.

  • Uses hand tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators and specialized environmental test equipment (vibe tables, altitude and thermal chambers, etc.).

  • Record test data in written and electronic formats.

  • Business travel up to 10% - (1-3 weeks per trip, up to 2-3 times per year).

  • Ability to obtain US security clearance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical hardware.

  • Experience with electrical and environmental test equipment.

  • Will read and interpret procedures, wiring diagrams, and electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel.

  • Maintains understanding of and complies with quality and safety policies at all times.

  • Will delicately handle, reach, move and may require a combination of being stationary as well as traversing between test locations and the occasional use of small stepladders.

  • 5+ years of related experience.  

  • Associates degree or certification in electronics, quality, testing or similar.

  • Experience with RF hardware, measurement and testing.

  • Willingness to work varied shifts to support surge activities.

  • Familiarity with lean processes and 5S / 6S.
