Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Software Engineering student for an internship role to support the Software Engineering team. 

At this location, AR Coleman Aerospace produces complex single, two, and three stage launch vehicles that are used to support ballistic missile defense testing. In this role, the candidate will work tasks supporting Software design, implementation and testing.

Under direct supervision:

50% - Design and implementation of software.

25% - Maintenance of software.

25% - Software Testing and Support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and pursuring a degree in Software Engineering.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.  Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of object-oriented techniques.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • General Knowledge of Software Engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated strong communication (written and verbal) through coursework, extra-curricular activities, or professional environments.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience and understanding of real-time embedded systems.
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232, RS-422, and Mil-Std-1553.
  • Real-time embedded programming experience with VxWorks, Greenhills, or similar RTOS.
  • Experience in CMMI 3 or higher work environment.
  • Prior experience developing software for real-time control of events and/or synchronization.
  • Familiarity with the use of oscilloscopes, test equipment, and probes.
  • Ability to comfortably work under Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience in Visual C++ (MFC) 6.0 or higher.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $64,500-$120,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
