Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Supervisor, Operations Management at the L3Harris Orange, VA site. Our site is near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC)! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.
We are seeking a highly motivated Supervisor to oversee our Mixing/Grinding Buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the operations within the building, which includes mixing, grinding and casting.
Essential Functions:
- Operations Supervision:
- Oversee daily operations involving mixing, casting and grinding
- Interface with maintenance to ensure appropriate preventative maintenance and improvement schedule is maintained and reactive maintenance is performed, as necessary.
- Maximize output while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Provide consult to operations staff on capabilities and best practices.
- Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all processes comply with L3Harris safety and quality standards.
- Regularly review and update procedures to ensure they contain the necessary level of detail for safe and accurate work.
- Ensure hazard analyses are appropriately scoped and documented.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Interface with the operations staff, scheduling & material planning to create and maintain an efficient schedule of activities.
- Interface with other departments to ensure all materials are prepared and available on schedule.
- Ensure that required procedures, jobs and mix sheets are released and accessible prior to the required time for work.
- Team Management:
- Hire, expand the team from the current staff to meet expected demand.
- Train building staff and maintain comprehensive training records for all personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing support and development for team members.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety and quality standards in chemical and explosive materials handling.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Leadership capability, with leadership experience a plus.
- Ability to interface effectively with operations staff and other departments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed schedules and records.
- Ability to implement and maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Experience with explosive mixing/casting, testing and handling hazardous materials.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $57,000 - $107,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
