Description:

 

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Segment, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the modernization and automation of production facilities, focusing on the OSD Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III efforts. This includes site development, program optimization, and equipment/process validation. The role also supports developmental and established production programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Process and Procedure Development: Prepare and maintain detailed process work instructions for facilities, processes, materials, and tooling.

Collaboration: Work with senior staff, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Environmental Health & Safety representatives to ensure compliance and safety.

Analysis and Documentation: Develop and lead Process Hazards Analyses (PHA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Facility/Equipment/Tool Acceptance documentation. Maintain and develop ERP routings and MBOMs.

Problem Solving: Solve manufacturing problems using test and production data evaluation, root cause/corrective analysis, and drawing/specification interpretation.

Process Improvement: Implement process flow diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analyses (PFMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Operational Support: Participate in defect identification and resolution, ensure compliance with Safety, Operations, and Quality Assurance, and conduct process reviews.

Tooling Development: Support process tooling development, design reviews, and implementation into manufacturing processes.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Demonstrate process ownership and implement improvements to increase efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Support energetic assembly operations, defect investigations, SPC monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed process instructions based on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant Engineering experience. Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting technical requirements from drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automation and process controls.
  • Experience with DELMIA and Maestro a plus.
