Job Description:

 

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Project Coordinator to support our Orange, VA site — a key center of excellence for solid rocket motor propulsion and energetics in the aerospace and defense market. This role plays a critical part in enabling safe, secure, and efficient execution of construction and facility-related activities by managing site access, contractor coordination, and daily logistics.

This position is a coordination-focused, site-based role that supports project managers, facilities engineers, and construction teams by handling the day-to-day activities required to operate within a secure manufacturing environment. You will be the primary point of contact for contractor onboarding, badging, scheduling, and site communication—ensuring work can proceed without delays or access issues.

 

Essential Functions:

 

This is a hands-on coordination role with emphasis on logistics, communication, and execution:

Site Access & Contractor Coordination

  • Coordinate contractor and vendor site access, including scheduling, badging, and onboarding requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for processing and tracking site access requests
  • Facilitate daily entry through site access points and support after-hours or weekend access as needed
  • Ensure all personnel comply with site security protocols and access procedures

Construction & Site Logistics Support

  • Coordinate day-to-day construction activities to align with site operations and minimize disruption
  • Communicate planned outages, tie-ins, and facility impacts with operations and facilities teams
  • Maintain site coordination schedules, including daily activities and short-term look-aheads
  • Track contractor presence, major milestones, and upcoming work activities

Delivery & Visitor Coordination

  • Coordinate deliveries, including scheduling, access, and onsite logistics
  • Support visits for inspectors, vendors, and external stakeholders by ensuring proper access and coordination
  • Assist with escorting or facilitating movement within secure areas as required

Safety & Site Requirements Support

  • Ensure contractors complete required safety orientations and acknowledgments prior to site access
  • Communicate site events such as drills, notifications, or access changes to onsite personnel
  • Support safety and operations teams with coordination of contractor compliance activities

Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Maintain accurate records of contractor rosters, badging status, and site access logs
  • Support coordination meetings, schedules, and communication across project stakeholders
  • Track open coordination items and follow up to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide general administrative support to project and facilities teams

This role IS:

  • A site coordination and logistics position focused on access, scheduling, and communication
  • A key support function enabling construction and facilities teams
  • A high-interaction role working across contractors, operations, and project teams

This role IS NOT:

  • Responsible for engineering design, technical decision-making, or construction quality oversight
  • Leading project budgets, cost tracking, or capital planning
  • Owning permits or regulatory approvals (may assist with coordination only)

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or other related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.  

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience supporting construction sites, industrial facilities, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with contractor coordination, badging, or site access processes
  • Experience working in secure or regulated environments (e.g., DoD, aerospace, industrial)
  • General understanding of construction activities and site operations
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative, coordination, or site support roles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
