Job Description:
Recognized as an external expert and technical leader with deep and substantive technical expertise in energetics and explosives as well as advanced business knowledge and leadership capabilities. Communicates with contacts inside and outside of the organization on matters of strategic importance to influence executive leadership on new concepts, practices, and approaches. Establishes overall direction for new processes, systems, and solutions. Recommends and implements strategies and develops operational plans/goals with direct impact to the achievement against functional strategies.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for developing resource plans and programs for area of responsibility to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.
- Provides safe, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of chemical analysis techniques
- Has full technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects involving energetic materials within a broad range of chemical tests, analyses or syntheses
- Conducts independent investigations involving the application of advanced principles of chemistry
- Consolidates results and prepares findings and recommendation documents
- Travel requirements with up to 5% of travel expected
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in the physical sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Materials) and minimum 12 years of prior relevant Energetics Materials experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced degree (PhD) strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in energetic material theoretical predictions, development, manufacturing, and function.
- Experience in energetic material properties, including safe handling, performance, and testing.
