Job Description
This position reports directly to the Associate Manager of Facilities, under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing hydraulic presses. The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints; assist supervisors with structural design, planning, and layout; and operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment needed to complete assigned tasks. Compliance with local building codes and health and safety regulations is essential.

The work environment may require both indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions) and involves frequent walking, standing, sitting, climbing (ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps), balancing, bending, reaching, handling/fingering, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Work may also require safe operation of material-handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, hoists, man lifts, snowplows, etc.). Employees may be exposed to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals, requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses or goggles, face shields, steel‑toed shoes, gloves, hard hats, shop coats, and hearing protection.

Employees must be able to don and doff personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other controlled areas. The position requires driving between various locations within the facility. Some duties may be performed in an office setting using standard office equipment, including a computer. The role may require working varying shifts and hours to support operational needs. General maintenance tasks such as snow plowing or mowing may be required as needed. The ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary.

Essential Functions
• 60% – Repair and maintenance of existing facilities
• 30% – New construction
• 10% – 6S general shop upkeep, cleaning, and organizing

Qualifications
Fully proficient job knowledge and skills required.
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or  2 years of post‑secondary/associate degree education and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Welding (TIG, stick, MIG)
Heavy equipment rigging
Operation of fabrication equipment (press brake, shear)
Operation of manual machining equipment (lathe, mill)
