Job Description: 

The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Facilities Technician C to work at our Orange, VA location. Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing!  This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.

 

The Facility Technician (HVAC) will work under general supervision to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using manufacturer publications, blueprints, schematics and locally generated instructions. Must be familiar with OSHA and NEC standards. Will be required to follow work procedures, work on facilities, and production equipment, as well as perform general maintenance.

 

Essential Functions:

  • 70% - HVAC Maintenance - Work with, troubleshoot and repair plant HVAC equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as HVAC units, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, etc.
  • 20% - Installation of new equipment.
  • 10% - 6S general shop upkeep, cleaning, or organizing.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior HVAC experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of HVAC related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Strong electrical experience / training in repairs in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient computer skills (such as MS Word and Excel, including use of formulas).
  • Virginia HVAC Journeyman, Master or Contractor License a Plus

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Virginia is USA2 $23.80/hr - $43.99/hr.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
