Job Description:
The Aircraft Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, evaluations, and documentation of aircraft, components, and maintenance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company quality standards. This role supports safe and reliable aircraft operation by identifying non‑conformances, enforcing quality requirements, and partnering with maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft, components, and systems during maintenance, modification, repair, and periodic inspection activities.
- Verify work performed meets FAA regulations, OEM specifications, company standards, and customer contractual requirements.
- Use approved inspection methods, tools, gauges, and test equipment to assess conformity and airworthiness.
- Document findings clearly and accurately in maintenance and quality systems (e.g., work orders, inspection forms, digital records).
- Review and validate maintenance paperworkfor accuracy and completeness and complete aircraft/engine/propeller logbook entries.
- Identify non‑conforming conditions, initiate quality notifications, and ensure corrective actions are implemented appropriately.
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts, materials, and components to verify certification and compliance.
- Complete internal audits.
- Provide guidance to mechanics and technicians on quality requirements, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain currency on regulatory changes, OEM updates, and industry best practices.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and meet inspection standards.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and access high or confined areas of aircraft.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Willingness and ability to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, or overtime as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- FAA A&P License.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Minimum of 5 years licensed A&P Mechanic experience.
- Must be a US citizen.

- Proficiency with digital maintenance and quality record systems.

- Work in hangar, shop, and outdoor ramp environments.
