Job Description:
The Integration & Test Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing integration and test activities for complex electro-optical and hardware/software systems. This role supports product development, verification, production, and sustainment efforts by ensuring test methods are effective, repeatable, and aligned to technical and program requirements.
As part of the broader Integration & Test organization, this position will primarily support the Sensor Imaging and Electro-Optical commodity team. This Level 3 role is intended for an experienced professional who can work with moderate independence, partner across Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations/Manufacturing, and contribute to improved test efficiency, repeatability, early failure detection, and on-time program execution.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and execute integration and test activities at the component, CCA, subassembly, assembly, and system levels.
- Develop test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, test cases, test flows, and test reports to support verification and validation activities.
- Configure, operate, and document hardware and software systems under test, including loading software and firmware as needed to support test execution.
- Execute manual and automated functional testing and accurately document results, issues, and anomalies.
- Troubleshoot hardware and system issues down to the component level using sound engineering judgment and structured root cause analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated test methods, scripts, and tools to increase consistency, repeatability, throughput, and early failure detection.
- Support Operations/Manufacturing by analyzing test failures and trends, implementing corrective actions, and helping resolve recurring issues quickly and effectively.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support design, development, qualification, manufacturing, and sustainment activities across multiple programs.
- Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders and, when needed, customers.
- Manage assigned tasks and priorities in accordance with program execution needs, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) expectations where applicable.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and knowledge sharing across the Integration & Test organization.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Capable of traveling domestically and internationally up to 10%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior Integration/Test experience. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of prior Integration/Test experience. In lieu of a degree, it requires a minimum of 8 years of prior Integration/Test experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience supporting integration and test activities for electro-optical, or imaging sensor systems.
- Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, verification, validation, and traceability.
- Familiarity with IBM Rational DOORS, Imatest, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience using test equipment such as collimators, DC power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and fiber optic scope meters.
- Knowledge of electro-optical imaging test methods and data analysis.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC qualification testing and environmental testing, including thermal and vibration testing.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration in a production or development environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual communication.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and work effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas, process improvements, and collaboration as part of a team.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $88,500 - $145,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
