Job Description: L3Harris is seeking Configuration Management Specialist in its Norfolk VA location. The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for planning, managing, and reporting on the documentation created to fulfill customer configuration and data requirements. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Designs and establishes configuration management documentation.
  • Analyzes proposed product design changes to determine the effect on the overall system and establishes baselines.
  • Authorizes the release of drawings and changes specified by Program or Engineering Management.
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation.
  • Plans and implements methods to improve response.
  • Acts as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration analysis documentation.
  • Performs audits to verify compliance with contract requirements.
  • Interface with multiple disciplines and levels of program regularly to ensure adequate Data Management support while receiving limited guidance from program Configuration Manager.
  • Interface with existing configuration management toolsets, including Agile Product Data Management (PDM) including customer portal for data delivery as a minimum.
  • Assist Program Management Office in performing internal audits and provide suggestions for improvement or enhancements to processes to improve performance of job area.
  • Process and evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Change Orders (ECOs), and Variance Requests (RFVs).
  • Ensure timely delivery of Subcontract Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs) and other deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, standards (e.g., EIA-649), and processes.
  • Proficient in handling engineering documentation and overseeing change management processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations or solutions.
  • Requires experience using version control tools such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Agile PDM.
  • Willingness to work overtime, on-call and/or outside of normal business hours as needed to meet critical deadlines and business requirements.
  • Knowledge of SDRL process and requirements for delivery to customers.
  • Understanding of part/assy Serialization and how assigned using Agile PDM.
  • Working knowledge of PLM and ERP tools.

  • Proficient in MS Office
