Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician to join its Norfolk-VA team. The manufacturing technician will perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or end products.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Performs a variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or end products in a repetitive nature
  • Follows an engineered assembly process, but may require the ability to adjust, fit, or align parts
  • Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers, screw drivers, soldering irons, and wrenches
  • Maintains consistent quality and productivity levels
  • Performs hand soldering on electronic assemblies
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment
  • Works as part of a team and collaborates to accomplish tasks
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Follow an engineered assembly process and maintain consistent quality and productivity levels.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • At least 2 years of experience with electronic assembly.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Previous assembly skills and strong mechanical background.
  • L3Harris product knowledge.
  • Self-Starter, willingness to train and mentor entry level assemblers.
  • Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements through the E3 process.
  • Lean manufacturing skills.
  • CostPoint system knowledge.
