Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking A Machinist who performs a wide range of hands-on tasks within a fabrication shop, supporting production across multiple work areas and processes. This role requires versatility, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The technician may be responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying, finishing, and inspecting parts or assemblies using a variety of tools, equipment, and shop methods.

Essential Functions:

• Perform fabrication work across multiple shop areas, including cutting, drilling, grinding, forming, fitting, assembly, and finishing.
• Proficiently interpret drawings and work packages while maintaining attention to detail and understanding precision tolerances.
• Measure precision parts using calibrated instruments.
• Fabricate new parts or repair existing ones as needed in manufacturing processes
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with machine operation and secondary processes as needed.
• Deburr, clean, and prepare parts for downstream production or final delivery.
• Identify and report quality issues, material defects, equipment concerns, or process problems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop and company standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating practices.
• Support workflow as needed in different departments based on production priorities.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience working in a fabrication, manufacturing, machine shop, or production environment.
• Experience in use of common shop tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
• Experience in understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and shop processes.
• Experience in reading tape measures, calipers, and basic technical drawings.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to move and transport materials and parts within required shop limits.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington State, DC and Virginia (Greater D.C. area), Denver, or NYC areas is $44K-$81K.   The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia (outside of Greater D.C. area) is $38K-$70K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
