Title:  TDA Electronic Technician

Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Technical Design Agent (TDA) Electronics Technician in Newport, RI.  This technician will maintain, transport and repair components of a complex naval submarine system. 

Essential Functions:

·         Technical Responsibilities:

o   Troubleshoot circuit boards, isolate faults, and perform necessary repairs, including replacing resistors, IC chips, and capacitors.

o   Overhaul systems, including electrical and electronic work, followed by physical reassembly (disassemble, sand, paint, and reassemble equipment).

o   Test systems on test stands to ensure they are Ready for Issue (RFI) and perform necessary repairs if they fail testing.

o   Assemble fiber optic connections.

o   Implement Engineering Changes (ECs) according to the instructions provided by Engineers.

·         Engineering Support and Process Improvement:

o   Collect and provide data to Engineers as part of the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.

o   Contribute to system improvements by leveraging work experience and technical knowledge.

o   Review and provide input on new test procedures and related program documents.

·         Field and Fleet Support

o   Assist the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) teams with Temporary Alterations (TEMPALTS), system certifications, modernization, and maintenance tasks at various Naval bases and shipyards.

o   Provide technical assistance for in-water test events, including logistics, rigging, and de-rigging of equipment.

Qualifications: 

·         Knowledge of Navy and Maintenance Engineering Requirements:

·         Understanding of Navy, major command, and other levels of maintenance engineering program requirements relevant to the development of scheduled maintenance needs.

·         Knowledge of Submarines, Surface Ships, and Weapons Systems:

o   Familiarity with submarine and surface ship operations, weapons systems, and their operating requirements.

o   Ability to perform technical engineering services that effectively address real-world fleet needs.

·         ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Desired, with ability to obtain TOP SECRET Clearance

·         Bachelors degree and 6 years relevant experience (10 years’ experience in lieu of a degree).

·         TOP SECRET Clearance to start.

·         Electric Pallet Jack Certification

·         Hazardous Waste Generator Training
