Job Summary:

 

The Business Systems Analyst at L3Harris ForceX serves as the Product Owner and as liaison between the customer and the development team. The BSA is responsible for setting the vision for the product, and for prioritizing and accepting the work generated by the team to ensure the vision is met. The BSA is also responsible for communicating customer requirements and feature requests to the software development team. The BSA will work closely with Systems Engineers, Solution Architects and software engineering teams to break customer requirements into work items. The BSA partners directly with Program Managers to effectively track product delivery and are responsible for creating and maintaining a Release Plan.

ForceX BSAs are assigned to a program or programs, and will interface directly with customers, stakeholders and vendors. BSAs have an operational, high-level knowledge of the software product and how it interfaces with the system, and can support technical customer meetings, integration events, and ground/flight test events. The BSA ensures an operational Software Integration Laboratory (SIL) is maintained to support iterative development and test. The BSA will troubleshoot issues, as well as work with Systems Engineering and Avionics teams to integrate new hardware and support functionality of existing hardware.

The Business Systems Analyst, Specialist Level is an intermediate professional with experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, or significant experience in a related industry. The Specialist BSA will support a program or product team in the Agile development lifecycle by developing a backlog of work items, and ensuring the completed product meets customer expectations. The Specialist BSA develops the product vision and communicates it to the team, as well as tracks the progress of the development team to ensure customer deliverables are met on time. The Specialist BSA helps team members understand the integration of the software product on the SIL, and develops a strong working knowledge of the system as a whole. The Specialist BSA interfaces directly with customers and stakeholders, and may travel to support technical, program, and field or test events.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Product ownership within an AGILE/SCRUM software development lifecycle
  • Develops a product vision and strategy, and communicates it with other BSAs, software development team members, customers and stakeholders
  • Develops a product roadmap or release plan and prioritizes features for development to ensure product delivery schedules are met or exceeded
  • Serves as a Product Owner, and communicates product vision, strategy and purpose to the team, effectively translating customer requirements
  • Breaks down large capabilities and requirements into Epics and User Stories
  • Works directly with customers, stakeholders, and systems engineers/architects to understand the intent of requirements and feature requests
  • Tracks project deliveries, analyzes business metrics, and reports status of deliverables
  • Primary contributor to user story writing and backlog development
  • Develops and prioritizes the backlog of work for the team, using inputs from the engineering and customer groups. Ensures development team has adequate backlog health and sets clear vision and goals for the sprint.
  • Participates in team activities and events; owns backlog refinement and serves as a leader on the team providing vision, direction and support
  • Assists in writing and reviewing technical documentation that will be delivered as part of a contract
  • Accepts the work of the development team each sprint, ensuring delivered product is operating in accordance with the customer’s expectations
  • Requires the Ability to Obtain a DoD Clearance


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Operational knowledge of the AGILE/SCRUM development methodology.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business related field with 4 years minimum prior work experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

        OR

  • 8 years of prior experience working as a Business Analyst, Engineer or experience with Department of Defense customers, hardware and software integration, or installation/maintenance of avionics systems.
  • Proven background of delivering quality requirements and seeing deliverables through to completion.
