Job Description:
The Senior Manger of Supply Chain for the ForceX business unit is responsible for strategic execution of the supply chain function, including leading in combined metrics, forward looking approaches for procurement and proposals for all programs within the business unit. This individual will report to a Director of Supply Chain within the Targeting and Sensor Systems Sector and will work in a matrixed organization supporting the ForceX P&L leader. The role will provide significant strategic support to the business unit to include oversight of local Supply Chain (purchasing, subcontracts, program supply chain support, and material proposals). The individual will act as the primary point of contact for all Supply Chain related activities and initiatives within ForceX. The employee will lead strategy, long term planning, compliance, large negotiations, savings, E3 Initiatives, Supply Chain metrics initiatives, and continuous improvement while collaborating with program management, operations, engineering, finance, and other support functions. The individual will be responsible for developing a world-class supply chain team through staffing, training, and talent management initiatives. The employee will be responsible for supply chain “Return to Green” initiatives while ensuring all activities are thoroughly communicated to the ForceX General Manager as well as the ForceX leadership team.
The individual will also maintain responsibility for succession planning, as well as organizational and talent development. Other critical activities include facilitating supplier development and leading the organization in the development and implementation of operating philosophies and business strategies, developing, implementing, and sustaining success metrics. This individual is responsible for developing the strategy, vision and driving performance of all supply chain functions resulting in superior cost and schedule performance leading to strong internal/external customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with the Functional organizations across the business unit to identify strategic suppliers and subcontractors and work proactively to meet or exceed performance (cost/schedule/technical) needs.
- Manages procurement processes and systems. Ensures processes are aligned with all Government, Corporate, and Segment/Sector policies as well as prime contract requirements.
- Identifies and executes initiatives to improve performance based on industry best practices.
- Select, motivate, and lead a strong team.
- Enable growth through supporting strategic new business pursuit activities as a critical subject matter expert for purchased and subcontracted systems and services.
- Ensure risk management strategies and processes are deployed on critical procurement efforts.
- Manage supply chain metrics to ensure company goals and supplier performance objectives are being met and maintained.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship required.
- Security Clearance: Secret clearance required; able to obtain TS/SCI
- Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams and manage across the function.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Preferred degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline. Master’s degree in a related field, or MBA, desired.
- Experience in supply chain management (including sourcing, contracts, and/or subcontract management) in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Proven experience in leading high performing teams.
- Solid knowledge of defense supply chain and purchasing processes.
- Needs experience with FAR/DFARS contractual terms and conditions.
- Experience in negotiation of large complex subcontracts and agreements.
- Ability to manage change in an organization, reengineering its culture and approach to workload management.
- Earned Value Management experience / Previous Control Account Manager experience
- Ability to travel periodically; expected to be no more than 30%
