About your next Challenge as a Chief System Engineer:

The Chief Systems Engineer is responsible for leading an Integrated Product Team (IPT) ensuring technical, cost and schedule execution of the Engineering content of the RCD program. The position requires flexibility to manage multiple customer requirements (cost, schedule, technical capabilities), while using analytical and strategic skills to guide the engineering team to successful program deliveries of customer needs. A key part of this role is to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries and ensure programs are smoothly transitioned to production and deployment phases. The Chief Systems Engineer must be able to interact with Division peers, Sector, Segment and Corporate technical leaders and diverse customers.

What will you do: 

  • Build, lead and manage the cross-functional engineering IPT dedicated to the ongoing advancement of the program.
  • Technical, cost and schedule accountability for technical project execution. Manage contract change and all phases of the portfolio from capture to sustaining.
  • Management of engineering staffing demand and allocation of resources
  • Planning and execution of product development, from product definition through production transition to meet portfolio goals and objectives.
  • Decision maker for high level / high impact engineering technical issues.
  • Develop and support a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Maintain a climate of fostering a high level of employee motivation, performance, and commitment. Oversees staffing plans and reviews work plans and schedules for each phase of a project in accordance with time limitations and funding.
  • Represents engineering organization with major customers and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Deep knowledge of the IPMS system and its adjacent supporting Control and Instrumentation System.
  • Fluent in job assignment using the JIRA tool.
  • Knowlegeable of MAPPS’ engineering processes.
  • Great communicator.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

·         Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

·         Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

·         Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
