Title:  Lead, Engineering Operations

About your next Challenge as a Lead, Engineering Operations:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced systems engineer with experience in delivering engineering solutions to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering organization to streamline the design, development and any related processes which will also include the metrics reporting.  You will work closely with engineering discipline leaders to understand, optimize and automate processes and reporting. This position has a significant visibility with senior leadership and other functions.

 

What will you do:

  • Support the engineering team to produce engineering metrics aligning to business Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with product, sales, and engineering teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to improve our products and processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions and processes.
  • Collaborate on optimal growth with business development, program management and senior management teams. Communication within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts
  • Act as an advisor to supervisors or staff to ensure that deadlines are met and that technical or operational constraints are resolved
  • Influence the smooth running of programs and projects through continuous improvement, accountability for quality and data analysis
  • Champion new concepts or technologies, manage the implementation of functional strategies and recommend operational plans that directly affect the short to mid-term function or business area results and contribute in a tangible way to the overall results

 

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Strong self-directed technical leader with excellent interpersonal and influence skills, excellent verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant technical. Experience related to L3Harris product lines (real-time environment, simulation, etc.) and processes is an asset.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in technical program/project management, leading, managing and supervising a team, and supporting multiple programs
  • Experience interfacing with senior management, peers, and employees
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the aptitude to develop and execute a strategy
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets and schedules simultaneously
  • Broad understanding of engineering processes with a proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to the discipline areas
  • Excellent team building skills; know how to integrate well within several specialties and organizations
  • Proven experience in solution architecture and design.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingualism (French, English). The English language, in addition to the french language, is required due to contractual requirements.

 

Assets

  • Experience with security automation and vulnerability management.
  • Strong programming skills (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, etc.).

 

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

·         Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

·         Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

·         Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
