Job Description:
L3Harris seeks a Specialist, Accounting to work remotely for the Shared Business Services (SBS) group. The candidate should have proficient knowledge of the job area. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Will communicate with contacts inside and outside of the department. This position is a great opportunity to learn about all areas of the SBS organization.
Essential Functions:
- Manage construction in progress for designated projects. Works with other departments to ensure timely communication of documents related to the acquisition and disposition of fixed assets. Maintains the fixed asset ledger by updating it with any additions and disposals of assets. Prepares fixed asset related journal entries by assigned due dates. Apply GAAP principles to accounting processes. Conducts accounting research.
- Prepares and distributes other reports and/or analysis as needed. Assists with preparation, analysis, and verification of various schedules for reporting. Prepares data for internal and external auditors as requested.
- Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Assists other members of the Finance and Accounting group as needed. Assists in standardizing processes and identification of process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of financial accounting systems, strong computer skills and ability to learn and use applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate clearly, timely and accurately.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as work independently in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to meet deadlines and execute commitments.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $73,000 - 135,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $63,500 - $117,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
